Annual March for Life is set for Saturday, Feb. 11 in McAllen. It will begin at St. Joseph the Worker Parish on South 23rd and end at Sacred Heart Catholic Church downtown. The event begins at 8 a.m. with music by the JesTus Brothers and a rally for life at 9 a.m.
The March for Life, a peaceful and prayerful march through downtown McAllen, follows the rally. The Knights of Columbus will escort our Bishops at the forefront of the procession and as we pray the Holy Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet accompanied by music. The March for Life is a family event; there will be Pro Life balloons for the children, and participants are encouraged to make homemade signs to promote and advocate for the lives of the unborn and their parents.
This year we will march, not only in thanksgiving for the reversal of Roe v Wade and the Texas Heartbeat Bill, but also giving thanks to God for the permanent closure of the local Whole Women’s Health (the abortion mill) facility. Those who want to participate but cannot walk due to physical constraints will be allowed to ride in decorated motor vehicles at the end of the procession.
